United by Rhythm: A Global Celebration of Life
Vale!ULB is a collaboration between five expert musicians representing the Latin diaspora. The combination of their talents is reminiscent of the most prominent supergroups, with each member bringing excellent musicianship and unique artistry to the band.
Hailing from Cuba, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, and NOLA via Mexico, their diverse backgrounds harmonize to create this rich tapestry.
Val, the daughter of the acclaimed Dante Vargas, a multiple Latin Grammy-winning musician and producer, leads the band on vocals. Deezle, a 3-time Grammy-winning producer (Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj), champions the bass and vocals as well as serving as the group’s producer. Emiliano, a Grammy-winning trumpeter (The United States vs. Billie Holiday, toured with Ricky Martin & Marc Anthony), covers the brass. Anier, an extraordinary Cuban percussionist, and repeated champion of Cuba’s Fiesta del Tambor (Festival of Drum), brings the rhythm to percussion. And Friki, son of the founder of the Buena Vista Social Club and a highly decorated musician, holds it down on guitar.
The five members of Vale!ULB unite over a shared love of pushing musical boundaries. Their sound transcends genres and celebrates life to its fullest. Their songs transport listeners to the sun-soaked beaches of Miami, the Caribbean, or South America. Their Latin core blends with influences from New Orleans soul and modern hip-hop to create driving beats that make you want to dance. They call this unique sound “Cabana Bounce.”
Always giving back to their community, they mentor and support aspiring musicians by providing instruments and performance opportunities via the Trombone Shorty Foundation in New Orleans.
